  • I'm joining all the conversations of the groups that I'm homozygous only, that will keep me busy enough. Don't know much about this. I have Immunoglobulin M deficiency, CIU, Hoshimoto's, autoimmunity & fibromyalgia and most likely Ankylosing Spondylitis with neuropathy since my teens.

This site's page explains that lab results are never about falling anywhere in the normal range: https://stopthethyroidmadness.com/lab-values

Those with hypo symptoms and "normal" labs might want to check out Dr John Lowe. He wrote about Hypothyroidism and Fibro. https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/02/26/dr-john-lowe-on-thyroid-disease-pa...

For Hashimoto's and Thyroid issues I recommend the StopTheThyroidMadness.com website. They have a great deal of information with sources listed. They provide a central place for thyroid disorder patients to find a wide range of info and to share experiences. It helped me navigate Hashimoto's treatment. My doctor said my TSH was in range but didn't check free T3, free T4, or reverse T3. My TSH was great but I had low T3 levels and felt horrible. TSH sometimes is like checking the thermostat works on a hot day when somebody stole the AC unit from outside!

My thyroid labs had been normal for years even while i had every symptom of hypothyrodism.A few weeks ago my labs wereTSH 5.2,Free T3 3.5 Free T4 1.4 I am now on thyroid meds and within three days my energy was great. This lasted two weeks then I seem to "hit the wall" again. My original dose was only 25mcg-now I am on 50mcg for about ten days-still do't have that energy back. I am doing a test on my adrenals.

You all may want to know that there are many Naturopath Drs. who use "optimal reference ranges" for your thyroid panel results. If a doctor does not use this, they may easily say you don't have a thyroid disorder when you really do!! Dr. Amy Myers is amazing. She's authored at least two books. I completed her NATURAL, 30 day rigorous program and feel like many of my thyroid symptoms are gone. She recommends another 1-2 months to COMPLETELY reverse hypothyroidism naturally for some people. Optimal ranges should be: TSH 1-2, Free T4 more than 1.1, Free T3 more than 3.2, Reverse T3 less than a 10:1 ratio of RT3 to FT3, TPO less than 9, TgAb less than 4, TRab or TSHRAb less than 1.3, and TSI or TSAb less than 1.3. Look Amy up. Her books are amazingly insightful!

All my thyroid labs are within normal range, but I have had hypothyroid symptoms since my 20's. My sister has Hashimoto's and my mom is low thyroid. Any ideas as to what to pursue? I am MTHFR C677T +/+.

Very interesting! I fit the pattern of hypothyroid and i really cannot take any more. I have a very understanding dr. and suspect pituitary stuff. Adrenals are on the floor but can't do anything to raise them.

Thank you- thats a great idea-- ive skimmed that ebook before- i will take a look back at it. Yes ive even wondered if since ive been eating so clean and GF --that my antibodies just havent showed up. I have vitiligo (which often precedes hashis) and I also have a positive ANA....not sure where thats coming from

It might be helpful to read Chris Kresser on the 5 patterns of hypothyroid that don't show up on lab tests. Including pituitary dysfunction related to adrenal fatigue, inflammation etc. I have learned so much from Kresser. I also understand that most hypothyroid is Hashimotos even with negative antibodies. I have yet to learn how to determine this. Pretty much, I figure I will follow the auto immune diet, stay away from gluten, dairy and processed foods.

AD-3785 are you dx with hypothyroid or hashimotos? How could this be if your labs are normal? My tsh is 1.8 and Ft3&4 were okay too.....antibodies negative...just not sure if there is any other way to determine hypothyroid or developing hashis without antibodies yet. thx

When I said normal labs, I mean my TSH was 1.5 and FT3 and FT4 were in the normal range. Antibodies negative.

when you both same normal labs, do you mean normal TSH? My tsh, free t3 and free t4 were normal and my antibodies are negative....but I have suspected hypothyroid for months as my symptoms line up with it so well. come to find out my snps are related to hypothyroid and hashi's........share what you mean by normal labs

I hear you, I'm new at this too. I really don't understand too much of the results other than I also have Fibromyalgia since 2004 and all the classic low thyroid symptoms with normal labs.
